About Us

Who We Are

Peace of Heaven exists because God placed a burden on the hearts of faithful servants who chose not look away.

For decades, Pastor Dave and Cheryl Bryan, through their leadership at the Church of Glad Tidings, have served children, families, and the most vulnerable members of their community with compassion, courage, and conviction. What began as pastoral care, prayer, and local outreach slowly revealed a deeper and more urgent reality. Across the globe and including throughout the nation, children are suffering unimaginable trauma with limited options to find help and healing.

As stories emerged and needs became clearer, one truth remained constant: we could not be silent.

Peace of Heaven was conceived out of this realization, that trafficked and exploited children need not only rescue but restoration to recover what was lost and gain a hope and a future. They need time, safety, love, structure

Our Story

The vision for Peace of Heaven was birthed within the Church of Glad Tidings as its leadership, lead by Pastor Dave and Cheryl Bryan, and its greater team and community encountered the growing crisis of child exploitation and trafficking impacting communities across California and beyond. What began as prayer and advocacy soon became a calling to create something more permanent: a home, not just a program.

While the Church of Glad Tidings continues its vital ministry, it became clear that the scope and responsibility of housing and rehabilitating trafficked youth required a separate, dedicated organization with a singular focus. Peace of Heaven was formed as that successor, carrying forward the heart, values, and leadership of its predecessor while stepping into an expanded mission.

In those early days of development, our founding leadership team was birthed and the Board of Directors has been instrumental in forging this new day at POH. It includes national voices such as Troy Brewer, Mary Flynn, Gregg Page, Dr. Doug Frank , Leigh Dundas, and a few faithful, hard-working, leaders from Glad Tidings who serve on the board with Pastor Dave, including: Lou Benninger, Gary Underhill, and Sharleta Bassett. Together, our Board carries the wisdom, compassion, and grit needed to steward this exciting mission with excellence.

Besides these significant leaders, many people from all over the U.S. and beyond are even now linking arms with us to offer prayers, finances, labor, and love. Many are even moving here, teachers, builders, helpers, healers and just lovers of God‘s kids , all converging on little Live Oak, CA!

Today, Peace of Heaven is governed by an independent board and led by a professional team committed to excellence, integrity, and compassionate care. Though our roots and continued partnership with the church, our calling reaches beyond, to children who have been exploited, silenced, and forgotten.

Why We Exist

Children who have been trafficked are not broken but wounded.

Peace of Heaven exists to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing residential environment where healing can take place at each child’s pace. Our approach is trauma-informed, relational, and restorative, addressing not only physical safety, but emotional, spiritual, and practical needs as well.

Our mission is to offer:

  • Safe residential housing

  • Individualized care plans

  • Therapeutic support

  • Education and life skills

  • Long-term aftercare and transition support

We believe healing happens best in an environment that feels like home, not an institution. Every child deserves to rediscover their worth, voice, and future.

Our Commitment

Peace of Heaven is committed to serving trafficked and exploited youth with compassion, accountability, and faith-driven purpose. While our initial focus prioritizes girls, including young mothers, our vision includes expanding care to all survivors who need a place of refuge and restoration.

Everything we do is guided by a simple belief:

Every child deserves the peace of heaven.
